Item Description

A beautiful and aesthetic spray of glassy, lustrous, translucent gray-blue barite blades highlights this classic sculptural large two-sided "rib" shape from the historic polymetallic Baia Sprie Mine of Romania. A bonus is the barite crystallization on the back. The crystals are distinctively different, being smaller, equant and darker gray. Classic and excellent barite from this famous old mine from the Taylor Hunt Collection. This is large, showy, and sparkling - and just has a nice aesthetic unusual compared to others. Old material from the 1990s or early 2000s. on close inspection, it has a few VERY minor bruises. it is old, big, and not quite perfect but still i would say "near pristine." certainly nothing major, depsite the apparent fragility. Also, it is quite shippable, more robust than it looks.
