Item Description
Stout bartye blades, to 6.7 cm on edge, dramatically cover this impressive large specimen, jackstraw-style from the famous Creede Mining District of Colorado. The striking parallel-growth, tan blades are lustrous, glassy and partially translucent. In great shape, overall, considering the size and richness of the piece. The outstanding frontal view hosts trivial edge wear and periphery wear, which are certainly only modest detractions. A broken blade is out-of-sight on the back in the display view. This major specimen is probably from the limited 1970s finds. Hefty mass is 4558 grams or 10.0 pounds. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock and valued by Les at $3500. Very difficult to obtain today in the size, richness and quality. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
