Item Description
A striking large layered lepidolite "ball" dramatically cascades down two sides, from top to bottom, in the feldspar and quartz matrix on this most impressive and sculptural specimen from an unknown Minas Gerais pegmatite. The dominating ball at the top is 7.2 cm across. Pearlescent rich lavender lepidolite has stunning shimmering lustre. This is an uncommonly large and excellent matrix specimen "ball" lepidolite from Brazil. Nearly all of the specimens that I have seen of this variety have been miniatures, so this one is very large and extremely fine for the species and location. The two-sided lepidolite is artistically set in the matrix. The base has been sawed to enhance the fine 2-way display quality. Rarely available in this size and quality!
