Item Description

Rich, impressive and sculptural large azurite and malachite from the famed mines at Bisbee. The striking, layered piece hosts vugs lined with scintillating tiny "electric-blue" azurite crystals dramatically and colorfully flanked by layers of fibrous, radial malachite and massive azurite. Some of the azurite crystal vugs are coated with brown Manganese oxides, a diagnostic feature of some Bisbee specimens. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection No. 23162 and acquired in 2008. Hefty and rich copper ore at 1587 grams or 3.5 pounds mass. A classic and very showy large combination from the renowned locale. Chet obtained this from the personal Bisbee collection of Jaye Smith and the late Bill Lawrence of the Rocksmiths dealership.
