Item Description
Tarnowitzite is the rare lead-rich variety of aragonite, with the very best examples coming from the famed Tsumeb Mine. This is an impressive, very large, translucent, two-toned, tapered, parallel-growth, pseudohexagonal crystal. The prism bodies are tan and the terminations are snow-capped! The basal periphery wear is mostly out-of-sight on the back. A very fine and large example of this rare Tsumeb varietal from the Willy Israel Collection and purchased from Clive Queit in 1978. Valued at $400.
