Item Description

A surreal looking fantastically knobby/botryoidal two-toned 360-degree aragonite stalactite from this very obscure extinct gold mine. The projecting ivory knobs on one side are truly otherworldly. The sawed base reveals the concentric layers of carbonate growth adding character. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. You can barely see the trivial bit of bruising on the sides and at the top. Ghostly white fluorescence. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. This locality is known for such cave aragonite specimens, but they are very RARE. An exceptional large example.
