Large Aquamarine (Shields Flynn Coll.)

Item Description

Wow! A very rare, impressive and rich large aquamarine plate from the Erongos. Gemmy, glassy, fine blue crystals are dramatically strewn jackstraw-style on the sculptural etched feldspar matrix. The striking upright crystal is 3.5 cm and the large horizonal crystal in the center is 4.5 cm long (doubly terminated). The aquas have the typical gem terminations with crackly interiors. Expertly collected, all of the myriad of crystals in the interior are pristine. The nest of lustrous schorls on one side is a super accessory. Specimens of this size, richness and quality are VERY RARE. From the Namibia Collection of Shields and Frances Flynn. Valued at $4000-6000 and worth it.
