Large Apophyllite on Stilbite (Zerfass Coll.)

Item Description

Pretty mint-green, glassy, gemmy and lustrous, sharply terminated tetragonal apophyllite crystals are artistically festooned on the large basalt plate covered with contrasting glassy stilbite blades on this dramatic and aesthetic combination from Punah. The crystals reach about 4.0 cm on this very showy and classic large specimen from this locale. Choice large combination material from the Paul Zerfass Collection # 32. Older material from the 1970s to late 1980s finds from the famous quarries around Punah, as they were closed in the late 80s due to population growth. Valued at $2000-2500.
