large and important Descloizite (classic locale)

Simply STUNNING divergent sprays of chatoyant well terminated spearpoint-shaped Descloizite crystals from the classic Berg Aukas Mine in Namibia. Hands down one of the best localities in the world for the species, and this is one of the largest intact pieces we have seen! The piece just has that textural medieval, gothic look. It consists of dozens of elongated, dark bronze, lustrous Descloizite crystal clusters to 3.2 cm on a small amount of matrix. Throughout the multitude of crystals there is only some minor scuffing with an occasional broken crystal but that does not detract from the textural feel, geometry and aesthetics of the display face. An outstanding massive large cabinet specimen of this classic material. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl. This is old material, probably 1960s or into the 1970s, and such specimens in this size and quality are NOT commonly seen, and are hard to value.
