Unexpected and surprising neon-green SW UV fluorescence on the included Hyalite Opal or Opal-AN on this sculptural and impressive large 2-sided, polished agate slab from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The striking, sculptural core of colorless and oxide-tinted druzy quartz outlined by black agate is beautifully enclosed by stylish, contrasting dense banding of off-white to blue-gray, yellow, a marvelous, thin red band and more blue-gray agate. The scattered "eyes" and contrasting brown rind add even more character. Backlighting really accentuates the colors and details of this outstanding large agate slab. Mass is 487 grams or 1.1 pounds. Ex Jack Halpern Collection No. 4137 of San Francisco. Jack, now 104 years old, assembled one of the world's great mineral collections. He is beloved by all who have met him.
