Item Description
MONSTROUS, large afghanite crystals dramatically intersect at the crest of the striking, large triangular specimen from the famous Type Locality - Ladjuar Medam at Sar-e-Sang, Afghanistan. The two fantastic large trigonal crystals are an unusual mottled dark blue and green with matte luster. The stunning large crystal is 13.6 cm long and the smaller crystal is 9.0 cm long. This remarkable large piece is further accented with smaller afghanites and unusual parallel-growth bladed crystals. Portions of the afghanites fluoresce orange under LW UV light and the crusty yellow areas at the base fluoresce light yellow under LW UV light. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) old dealer stock and valued at $2000. An outstanding and impressive large afghanite.
