Item Description
A sculptural and hefty LARGE CABINET specimen of classic Cobalt silver showing the hackly and bright look that makes them very collectible and identifiable. This is a flattened, narrow vein with offshoots and has a bit of greenstone matrix attached to both sides. You can see crude spinel-twins. This piece could have come out anywhere in the heyday of this mine, which operated from 1907 to 1940. It came through the noted John Durkos Collection to the Robert Hauck Silver Collection. This massive and showy piece weighs 515 grams or over 1.1 pounds. A major old Canadian silver, yes, but also just a big crystallized silver period! Valued at $1500-1750.
