Laguna agates are generally considered to be the finest Mexican agates and arguably the finest in the world. They are very highly desirable and sliced and polished nodules are not that common, as individual slabs can sell for more. The pattern and form of the beautiful color-banding and quartz crystal lined vug on this excellent, sliced and polished quartz variety chalcedony (trade name Laguna Agate) nodule is striking. The outer rim is a striking transparent golden-amber followed by bands of lavender, tan, gray-blue and white. A fine nodule with a large central vug.
