Item Description
A cool and very rarely seen specimen of soft blue and reddish-brown colored prismatic Kyanite on matrix. from the famous area near Spruce Pine, North Carolina. If you collect minerals of North Carolina, or hard to find pegmatite specimens, look no further. The Kyanites are certainly crystallized, though they are not 100% complete, and they measure up to 4.3 cm long which is good for the area. Small groups of fairly massive soft blue colored Beryl plus associated Mica and Quartz can be seen on the piece as well for a nice touch. These are certainly not seen very often on the market, and even though Kyanite is not really a rare species, it's hard to find good crystals from any locality in the United States.
