Kyanite (rare "spray") (ex Tom Campbell Collection)

Most people quite familiar with the blue Kyanites from Barra do Salinas in Brazil, but the specimens from Ribeirao da Folha are much less common on the market, and highly desirable for their unique color and form. This piece is a gorgeous "fan"-like spray filled with dozens if not hundreds of thin, prismatic Kyanite crystals of a dark greenish-black hue. To be honest, this really does not look like Kyanite from any locality, and honestly resembles a species like epidote or an amphibole. Great quality, very little damage and really showy!
