Kyanite (rare locale) (ex Trimingham Collection)

Item Description

At first glance, this could easily be dismissed for a Brazilian Kyanite, but what we have is a fairly attractive and very hard to find cabinet sized specimen of Kyanite from Canada! This piece features many lustrous bicolor blue prismatic crystals of translucent Kyanite which measure up to 8.0 cm on massive Quartz matrix. The locality is a bit dubious, but I'm going off of what's on the label (and glued to the back of the specimen). If you collect Canadian minerals, or possibly worldwide Kyanite, don't miss out on this one. From the collection of Bob Trimingham.
