Item Description
A 3.5 cm lustrous, teal-blue kyanite crystal is aesthetically set on the plate of sparkly muscovite schist on this excellent miniature from this less well-known Urals locale. Part of the muscovite is the colorful green chrome-rich varietal fuchsite, adding pizzazz. The locality is well-known for the combination. Both ends of the kyanite are contacted. Fine material from the Fersman Museum and Kay Robertson Collections # 12211. Kay purchased this piece from the Fersman at the 1990 Denver Show, when they first came out to the West. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
