Kyanite (old classic) ex Philadelphia Academy (1800's)

Item Description

A significant old East Coast kyanite. This specimen is terminated (if crudely so as the species usually shows), and is a rare large survivor from these old quarries circa mid-1800s. It has good blue color and luster, although dampened a bit by the natural brown oxides adhering. It also has associated muscovite. Try to find another of this size!
