Item Description
Kyanite and Muscovite variety Fuchsite combination specimens are EXTMEMELY RARE from this well-known Kola Peninsula, Russia locale famous for sharp twinned Staurolite specimens. Sections of glassy, translucent, blue-green kyanite prisms, to 3.3 cm, are richly scattered in the unusual wavy layered schist matrix with striking areas of green Fuchsite. Fuchsite is the greenish, Cr-bearing variety of muscovite. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1992 soon after the fall of the Soviet Union. Rare, perhaps UNIQUE combination material from the locale.
