Kyanite

A 7.2-cm-tall crystal of kyanite is held front and center by a jackstraw arrangement of others, on this really sculptural small cabinet specimen from the Halpern collection. Jack purchased it from Ken Roberts in the 1990s. While there certainly ar emany bigger, some of them of decorator size, this is an elegant small cabinet piece that is composed and presents as a real specimen in a display collection. Most specimens , and they do still come out, are simply too big (and bashed up). This just has a nice and sculptural look to it. We are truly honored to present this specimen from another lot of deaccessions from the collection of Jack Halpern of San Francisco, as featured in the Mineralogical Record, March 2005.
