Kyanite

Item Description

A representative, pretty cluster of pure Kyanite from the famous mining state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. The bladed, sapphire-blue crystals have excellent luster and are nicely translucent, with sparkly flashes of gemminess when backlit just right. Normally found in matrix, it is unusual to be able to extricate a specimen of this significant size. However, the torturous mining that these brittle crystals surely endured is reflected in the splintering seen in some of the tips and edges. Nonetheless, it is an impressive and attractive specimen not often clustered and exposed like this.
