Kyanite

This gem is rarely seen in faceted stones from anywhere in the world let alone in such a rich color. Kyanite is an exceptionally rare stone mostly occurring in Brazil as included pale blue to colorless gems. This stone is from Nepal of all places and is a great Sapphire Blue color, and one of the best for Kyanite that I have seen. This is very difficult material to facet, and the color is out of this world. This "Oval Step" cut gem has a unique deep "inky" blue color and is very slightly included, but it is good gem quality and the color is excellent.
