Kyanite

This gem is rarely seen in faceted stones from anywhere in the world let alone in such a rich color. Kyanite is an exceptionally rare stone mostly occurring in Brazil as included pale blue to colorless gems. This stone is from Nepal of all places and is a good Sapphire Blue color, and one of the better for Kyanite that I have offered in a while. This "Cushion Cabochon" cut gem has a unique deep silvery blue color, but the clarity can best be described as opaque to translucent. The stone is not gem quality, but the size is what really makes a difference here. These stones are becoming very difficult to find in today's market, and stones over 2 carats (let alone a stone nearly 10 carats!) are even harder to obtain. Valued at $266.70 high retail.
