Kyanite

Kyanite is rarely seen in faceted stones from anywhere in the world let alone in such a rich color. It is exceptionally rare, mostly occurring in Brazil as included pale blue to colorless gems. This stone is from Nepal of all places and has a great Sapphire Blue color. This "Square Cushion Cabochon" cut gem has a unique rich inky blue color in the center with some slight colorless streaks. There are some inclusions, but the color is pretty good. These stones are becoming very difficult to find in today's market, and stones over 5 carats are even harder to obtain. The high retail value on this gem is $161.
