Finely filigreed, radial divergent elongated crystals of pastel pink Kutnohorite in curving botryoids twisting upon each other form a beautiful, truly sculptural specimen from the famous N'Chwaning II Mine. The rolling kutnohorite stepped-growth capping crust adds even more character to this dramatic example. The video really highlights the striking style of this piece. This piece is simply labeled as Kutnohorite, but there is usually some Manganocalcite mixed or interlayered as well (its a series) in the overlying, less crystallized platelike layers that crown the finely filigreed crystals. An exotic specimen from the Kalahari and fun to hold and look at. Probably from the classic finds here of the 1980s and early 1990s. The calcite fluoresces pink on this unusual piece.
