Item Description

Rich and rare kutnahorite from the historic Type Locality. Silver mining started in the 13th century and later lead and zinc ores were the focus in this ancient district (MINDAT). The small cabinet wedge is nearly solid kutnahorite. Pink fluorescence. Undoubtedly old-time material, but no proof. Ex Brno Museum (Bohemia). Gift from Joe Cilen to the Paterson Museum. Rare and rarely on the market.
