Item Description
Kuramite is an extremely rare copper tin sulfide species (part of the Stannite Group), only found in about a dozen world localities. The type locality is the Kockbulak Mine in Uzbekistan (it was named after the Kuramin (Qurama) Mountains where the type locality is found), but specimens are virtually non-existent. This piece is from the famous Campbell Shaft in Bisbee, Arizona. It's only the second specimen I've seen from this locality, and arguably the richest and best quality. The piece features micro grey spots of Kuramite associated with golden metallic Pyrite partially frozen into massive Quartz matrix. It's certainly a micro specimen, and we've photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. It is virtually impossible to get your hands on a piece of this material, and if you're a fan of rare species, especially rare sulfides, do NOT pass up the chance to get your hands on this one, as we cannot say when or if we will have another to offer.
