Item Description
A wonderfully broad and gemmy Kunzite group with minor Tourmaline from Afghanistan. The piece is essentially a floater as it's completely recrystallized on the bottom / base where it must have detached from the pocket wall. The form is fairly typical in my experience, with that classic "Roman sword" shape. You rarely see such well terminated Kunzite crystals from any locality, let alone crystals that are this broad / wide and gemmy. I must stress that the group is NOT opaque, you can see right through it. The Kunzite has a soft color when viewed on the "a" axis, but when viewed down the "c" axis, one can see a stronger purplish-pink hue. The thin prismatic green Tourmaline on the back makes for a great touch and association. The form, size and gemmines make it a great gem crystal from this most prolific gem producing region. Good crystallized Kunzites are only found in a few places on earth. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, and priced at $4500 in his inventory.
