The Corrego do Urucum pegmatite in Brazil is known for exceptional morganite and kunzite specimens. This exceptional, gem-quality kunzite from the find is wonderfully transparent, richly pink colored, and has glassy luster. The finds here are known for complex surface features that maintain transparency and glassiness, distinctly different from many of those found in Afghanistan which tend to be more concealing and striated. Kunzites are known for strong pleochrosim, showing darker coloring down the c-axis of the crystal (looking down upon the termination) compared to viewing from the side. Taken together for all those qualities, this is a very high quality example from the find. But it is more than that! It is also sharply twinned in the middle!
