Kunzite, Smoky Quartz & Cleavelandite

Item Description

An elegant and very fine Kunzite small cabinet combination from old finds in Nuristan, Afghanistan. A pristine, sharp, 3.4 cm, blocky, tabular Kunzite crystal is aesthetically set in the contrasting Smoky Quartz crystal and Cleavelandite matrix. The pretty lilac kunzite is water-clear to translucent with waxy luster prism faces and frosted, sharp wedge terminations. The obliquely angled, terminated, parallel-growth, translucent to transparent smokies have satin luster faces and reach 5.7 cm tall. The cluster of snow-white cleavelandite blades and the 1.9 cm section of another Kunzite crystal at the base are fine complements, accessories and contrasts. Nearly pristine, the bit of edge wear near the tip of one of the smokies is noted, but is certainly only a modest detraction. The kunzite crystal has pink LW UV fluorescence. Ex Dr. Steve Smale Collection, who priced this at $1500 for exchange/trade pricing on his label and from over 20 years ago, when he acquired the piece. A really cute, classic and aesthetic kunzite combination!
