Item Description

Kunzite specimens from the major 1951 find at the less well-known San Pedro Mine on Hiriart Mountain are RARE, highly desirable and are seldom on the market. This significant large crystal is a doubly terminated gem with light pastel-pink color and waxy lustre striated faces. The terminations are dramatically different, adding character. Two faces are cleaves, which are common and acceptable for spodumenes. The 1951 find by Charlie Reynolds recovered 300 pound of fine gem spodumene. Formerly in the Josie Scripps Collection, she was a prominent California collector and benefactor of minerals and this comes with her label; and Bill Larson's handwriting on the back.
