Kunzite is VERY RARE from the Cryo-Genie Mine, best known for fine tourmlaine, beryl and smoky quartz specimens. MINDAT lists the species, but there are NO examples in the Photo Gallery. Pretty pink color highlights this floater gem sculpturally etched crystal with waxy lustre faces. Bill Larson bought this from Dana Gochenour, who bought the mine in the late 1980s and began underground development in 2001.
