Item Description
A glowing, intense pink, saturated kunzite crystal of high quality from the famous Afghani pegmatite fields, this was an early export and has been in the collection of Dr. James Carter for decades. Imposing as it stands vertically, this is a majestic, gemmy, sharp crystal that is terminated on both ends. It is almost entirely transparent - not just translucent. It has one veil inside but is otherwise nearly gem-rough clean internally. The color is intense, more so on the c-axis as is typical for the species (so if you aim light going in at bottom or top, it REALLY glows a hot pink that is hard to convey in photos). We are pleased to offer this for sale on behalf of the Carter family estate, and there is a real opportunity for a collector to buy this historic example of a fine gem kunzite crystal. 203 grams.
