Item Description

Kunzite is only found in about three localities in the world in any noteworth specimens; Brazil, Afghanistan and San Diego County, California. In addition to its scarcity, it's even MORE difficult to find pieces of Kunzite on matrix! This specimen is one of the best I've seen from the famous Anita Mine featuring a full 10.0 cm, GEM quality, soft pink colored, prismatic, etched crystal aesthetically flaring off matrix. No real damage to speak of, and it's quite aesthetic to boot. The piece displays well from either side and stands out to me as an impressive, important and worthwhile cabinet display specimen from one of the most important gem producing regions in North America. The specimen has a great provenance coming from the collection of Irv Brown and Chuck Houser. Valued at $3500.
