Item Description

Kunzite crystals are some of the most attractive example of gem crystals in the mineral world. This piece is a wonderful, gemmy, doubly-terminated crystal of Kunzite / Spodumene from Afghanistan. Not only is this specimen doubly-terminated, but it's nearly a complete "floater" with only small point of attachment on the back. It's actually crystallized on the reverse side, as you can see smooth lustrous prism faces that reflect in the light. I love the fact that the piece has a pleasing combination of broad, smooth faces and slight striations among the graceful etching patterns, which are highlighted by the high luster on all sides. The crystal is actually bi-colored, showing a wonderful purplish pink color when viewed on the "a" axis, but when viewed down the "c" axis, one can see a stronger purple hue with a defined soft yellow color that runs through a portion of the crystal. Everybody is familiar with Kunzite, but there truly are only a few places on earth where good crystals are found in any quantity. Weight is 193.13 grams. Valued at $750 in the inventory.
