Item Description

Fine gemmy Kunzite crystals are really only found in a few places on Earth in any real quantity: San Diego County, California; Minas Gerais, Brazil and Kunar/Nuristan, Afghanistan. This piece is from Afghanistan and has great luster on every face, and is quite gemmy (virtually water clear in areas), but my favorite aspect of the piece is the fact that shows a glowing pinkish-purple color when viewed lengthwise down the "c" axis. In addition to the wonderful sharpness, luster, gemminess and color, the crystal is actually a doubly-terminated "floater" showing dozens of tiny "teeth"-like pyramidal faces (due to etching) on both ends. Weight is 88.81 grams This crystal is sharp and well-formed with a classic "sword"-shaped termination. The form and gemminess make this piece a great example from this most prolific gem producing region.
