These are some of the best contemporary Kunzites from any world locality, they so happen to come from the same area where Kunzite was first discovered. The original pink Spodumenes from San Diego County were named Kunzite in 1903 after the world famous mineralogist / gemologist, George F. Kunz, and specimens are still coming out today. Here we have a large, sculptural, GEM quality, lustrous, gorgeous, classic, pinkish-lilac colored Kunzite crystal from a decade ago at the Oceanview Mine. The WATER-CLEAR crystal is beautifully striated, and shows a gorgeous fiery color when viewed down the "c" axis. There is some surface etching, which is seen in virtually every crystal from the locality, along with a bit of included golden-brown pocket clay, but it's still showy and very good quality. Weighs 134 grams. Priced at $2,400 in the inventory.
