Item Description

A wonderful, very gemmy, doubly-terminated crystal of beautiful pink Spodumene / Kunzite from Afghanistan. Not only is this specimen doubly-terminated, but it's almost a complete "floater", were it not for a small spot on the edge that is not fully crystallized. I love the fact that the piece has an excellent mix of smooth, sharp, well-formed faces along with beautiful prismatic striations and gentle etching patterns. The crystal has a light pink to yellow color when viewed on the "a" axis, but When viewed down the "c" axis, one can see a darker pink hue. The luster is good on all sides as well. I really like that one end has a classic "Roman sword" termination, while the other has a flat basal termination. Internally, there are several spots where the piece is nearly water clear. Everybody is familiar with Kunzite, but there truly are only a few places on earth where good crystals are found in any quantity. Weight is 118.56 grams. Priced at $1,500 in the inventory.
