Item Description
A large, thick, doubly-terminated, gemmy "sword"-shaped crystal group of Kunzite from Afghanistan. The piece is close to being a complete floater as I can't see a true point of attachment from the pocket wall, but there are couple small areas of incomplete growth. It's was detached at one point, and then recrystallized ("rehealed") so it's now complete on both ends. The main crystal has a mix of softer green and purples colors when viewed on the "a" axis, but When viewed down the "c" axis, one can more clearly see the mix of multiple colors. There is a purple hue on one side, along with a greenish-yellow hue. The prism shows long striated faces on the front and back, and a notably sharp and well-formed termination which is not often seen in Kunzite from any world locality, as most are etched and do not display such wonderful morphology as this one. The termination shows beautiful smooth crystals faces, and looks good from both sized. Fine crystallized Kunzites are only found in a few places on earth and Afghanistan is only place that produces them with any frequency these days. Weight is 623 grams.
