Item Description
A large, thick, doubly-terminated, gemmy crystal of Kunzite from Afghanistan. The piece is essentially a nearly a "floater", but it does have a contact on one end. You can see the top of the crystal has many small "teeth-like" terminations, and the base is partially terminated, though not complete. The crystal has a medium silvery-purple color when viewed on the "a" axis, but When viewed down the "c" axis, one can see that there are actually multiple colors present. There is a purple hue on one side, along with a greenish hue and a slightly more yellow tone. The piece has long, smooth, very lustrous, striated faces on the front and back. It has some graceful hydrothermal etching, but also, well-defined smooth crystals faces, so it's a beautiful blending of the two forms. Good crystallized Kunzites are only found in a few places on earth and Afghanistan is only place that produces them with any frequency these days. It's a hefty piece, weighing in at 571 grams. Priced at $1800 in the inventory.
