Item Description
A wonderfully thick, doubly-terminated, gemmy etched Kunzite from Afghanistan. The piece is essentially a floater as I can't see a true point of attachment from the pocket well. The form is not typical in my experience, as most crystals are rather slender. The crystal has a medium color when viewed on the "a" axis, but When viewed down the "c" axis, one can see that there are actually four colors present. There is a strong purple hue on one side, along with a greenish-yellow hue in the center, plus a thin pink area on one edge and a slight soft aqua blue color as well. As I said, it's actually doubly-terminated with small stepped faces on each end. Certainly different than your run-of-the-mill Kunzite, and worth picking up as a strange novelty crystal from this most prolific gem producing region. Good crystallized Kunzites are only found in a few places on earth and Afghanistan is only place that produces them with any frequency these days. Weight is 123 grams.
