Item Description

Kunzite is a varietal name given to pink Spodumene that was named after the noted gemologist and author George F. Kunz who worked for Tiffany and Co. during the early 1900's. This material is well loved for its splendid color and attractiveness. Kuznite is not a very easy gemstone to cut due to the perfect cleavage planes and well cut gems are much appreciated due to this characteristic. This gem is a very appealing, bright, nearly eye clean "baby pink" color gem with a narrow "Oval" cut. Despite the amount of Kunzite available on today's market there are truly only two major sources in the world that produce gem quality crystals for cutting (three if you count southern California).
