Ktenasite is a RARE hydrated Zn-Cu-sulfate. It is EXTREMELY RARE from the historic Joplin Field of Missouri, as MINDAT does not list the species for the locale. Blue-green Ktenasite crusts richly coat a striking, sharp, pristine, 360-degree, frosted, modified, glassy, translucent amber Calcite scalenohedron and surround a dramatic, well-placed 5.0 cm patch of corroded Sphalerite crystals. RARE old-time material from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection and the Bill and Anne Cook Collection. Rare, perhaps UNIQUE, combination material from Joplin with Ktenasite. A must for the locality or species collector. This is an unusually aesthetic example! We have seen these at shows priced form low, outside the midwest, to $1000 or more for pieces of this quality in the Midwest where people know how rare they are
