Item Description

Kryzhanovskite is a rather rare phosphate, and some of the best crystals of the species are found in the Yukon Territory. This area is only accessible for a few months per year and is rather treacherous terrain for collecting specimens. This piece features lustrous, dark brown crystals of the rare manganese, iron phosphate Kryzhanovskite on matrix. If you collect rarities or phosphates, this is a great opportunity to pick up a piece of this hard to find material. Kryzhanovskite is a member of the Garyansellite-Kryzhanovskite series and can actually form as a result of the oxidation of Phosphoferrite.
