Krohnkite and Natrochalcite (circa early 1900s , TYPE LOCALITY for both)

An exceptionally rich, old-time specimen of the rare sulfate, Krohnkite, from the TYPE LOCALITY, the Chuquicatmata Mine of Chile. Without question, the variability in the blues is sublime and something not often seen, and the great translucence enhances the beauty even more. The veins exhibit what is classic for the species, lamellar growth of crystals in parallel bundles. The Krohnkite is beautifully complemented by the rare, emerald-green sulfate, Natrochalcite, for which Chuquicamata is also the TYPE LOCALITY. And to add to the superb aesthetics, the undulating form gives the piece a fantastic, pastoral feel. Formerly in the collections of Grace Dearborn and Phil Scalisi, this piece would date to the early to mid 1900s. VERY RARE on the market, and I have to see I cannot even recall seeing a combination specimen like this , before. It is gorgeous, unique material form a unique deposit.
