Item Description
Kovdorskite is a very rare hydrated magnesium phosphate found in only one locality in the world, on the Kola Peninsula of Russia. This is a large specimen with a small pocket that contains a few individual crystals to 8 mm which are rarely seen so sharply isolated, and the smaller crystals in the pocket are shockingly gemmy crystals for this species; and lustrous as well. This is old material from the 1990s, seldom seen today. The matrix presentation of the crystals in context is extraordinarily uncommon - and aesthetic in this case. Ex. Jingnan (Tom) Zhang Coll.
