Item Description

A classic example of the uncommon hydrated zinc arsenate Köttigite, from the famed Ojuela Mine in Mexico. Arguably the finest pieces of this species have been found at this time. This piece features attractive crystallized "sprays" of dark bluish-black colored Köttigite, with individual crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm, sitting atop oxidized matrix. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased.
