Item Description
Kolbeckite is a very rare hydrated scandium phosphate secondary mineral found in phosphate deposits and some hydrothermal veins. Three mint-green botryoids to 3 mm are scattered on the altered volcanic matrix, that is partially covered with botryoidal opal. Some of the opal fluoreces neon-green. This well-known abandoned quarry is famous for kolbeckite, which is extremely rare in nature.
