Item Description

A beautiful specimen of the famous old Klebelsbergites from the Pereta Mine in Italy. This piece features tiny, but highly attractive, "sprays" comprising off-white / pale golden colored acicular needles of this rare antimony sulfate sitting on silvery, prismatic, lustrous crystals of Stibnite free of matrix. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Yes, it's a micro, but it's gorgeous once you magnify the little sprays. Some of the best known and finest quality examples of this species have been at this mine, and this particular specimen dates back many decades. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9393). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
