Kinoite with Apophyllite and Gilalite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A great example of the rare and sought after calcium copper silicate Kinoite from the famous Christmas Mine. A patch of beautiful blue color micro crystals is coated by colorless Apophyllites on host rock matrix.

Asociated minor green spots of what I believe to be the copper silicate Gilalite can be seen as well. A cool representation of this hard to find material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7511). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
